B2B meetings, local experiences and MICE site visits: the best of encountER 2026 in Bologna

February 14–17, the Bologna area hosted encountER, the first B2B workshop entirely dedicated to the MICE sector in Emilia-Romagna, organised by I'Meetaly.
Four intense days brought together international buyers and local operators in a dynamic programme featuring site visits, themed tours, immersive experiences and networking moments.
Bologna and Modena, between food and motor
The event offered an authentic overview of the two cities, starting with guided visits to the historic centres of Bologna and Modena. Numerous experiences were dedicated to the region’s outstanding food heritage, including a private cooking class and dinner with a home cook from Cesarine, a visit to Caseificio 4 Madonne - a renowned producer of Parmigiano Reggiano - and a tour of Acetaia Gambigliani Zoccoli, a historic producer of Traditional Balsamic Vinegar.
The programme also highlighted the region’s motor heritage, with visits to the Museo Pagani and the Museo Ferrari, iconic symbols of the world-famous Motor Valley.
Several hotels and event venues were explored during the site visits, including UNAHOTELS Bologna San Lazzaro, Palazzo Re Enzo, Salotto Boschi and Royal Hotel Carlton. The programme also featured aperitifs, lunches and dinners showcasing local products, with the networking dinner held at the charming Bravo Caffè.
B2B meetings at Palazzo Pepoli
The core of the event was the B2B workshop, hosted in the evocative setting of Palazzo Pepoli. On Monday, February 16, buyers and suppliers met for a full day of pre-scheduled appointments, fostering new connections and concrete business opportunities.
