MAST Foundation

Fondazione MAST is a private non-profit institution founded in Bologna in 2013.

MAST is an English word meaning the main mast of a sailing ship and also an acronym for Manufacture of Arts, Experimentation and Technology.

The founding members of Fondazione MAST are Coesia, a group of companies specializing in innovative industrial and packaging solutions, and the Isabella Seràgnoli Foundation, a private and independent non-profit organization established to promote and support initiatives and projects for the community, particularly in the healthcare and socio-cultural fields.

The corporate welfare services provided by the Foundation to Group employees are closely integrated with a program of cultural activities offered free of charge to the public of all ages within MAST’s spaces.

The Innovation Gallery is a space dedicated to telling the story of work, inspired by Coesia’s manufacturing activities, through a path marked by technological exhibits and video art. The Galleries are exhibition spaces that host photography exhibitions on industry and labor throughout the year, featuring works from the Foundation’s collection as well as loans from museums and private collections. The Auditorium, equipped with state-of-the-art technology, a 32-square-meter ledwall and seating for 400 people, hosts cultural and musical events, film screenings and conventions promoted by the Foundation or by external organizations.

The Academy occupies an entire wing of MAST and includes classrooms of various sizes equipped with advanced technologies, dedicated to both internal and external training and education. Its activities are both technological and multidisciplinary, with training programs and workshops focused on technology, innovation and photographic imagery, aimed at young people, the local area—including schools, businesses and communities—and employees of the Coesia Group.
The Cafeteria provides bar and catering services for visitors attending the Foundation’s activities.
