Special incentives and benefits plan for major national and international events
A plan of incentives, benefits and additional special services, alongside those normally provided, made available by the Destination to be granted to major national and international events that choose Bologna and the Metropolitan City as the venue for their event.

It is a plan of incentives for the international events organization. The fund is up to € 500.000 per year for the three-year period 2023-2026. Find out more.
Services and support
- Bologna Convention Bureau dedicated staff for support and advice in the acquisition, planning and organization of the event
- Selection of the best local suppliers: venue and ancillary services, finding the most suitable organizational solutions
- Organization of site inspections and trips dedicated to the presentation of the candidacy with logistical and economic support
- Bid book preparation and assistance in the realization of candidatures for international and national congresses
- Contact and involvement of local institutions and the University of Bologna
- Exclusive use of Palazzo Re Enzo for gala dinners and events of great national and international importance with coverage of only the living costs of the structure (initiative subject to availability and conditions of use)
- Exclusive use of Rocchetta della Torre degli Asinelli (Asinelli Tower Base Fortification) for aperitifs with coverage of only the living costs of the structure (initiative subject to availability and conditions of use)
Welcome, hospitality and transport
- Reception services: tourist information offices are located in the arrivals area at Bologna International Airport, in the city center in Piazza Maggiore and on request in the exhibition center or at the venue. They can provide all kinds of information about the destination, as well as information material and maps (available in 8 languages) to delegates
- Hotel allotment: finding the best solutions in the city and eventually offering support from the BW Incoming agency and providing ad hoc commercial agreements.
- Discounts on transport services: booking and issuing of air and rail tickets at negotiated and advantageous rates for event participants (subject to availability)
- Ad hoc solutions for the management of major events with easy communication with local taxi companies
- Reduced rates for car and bus rental with private driver
Communication and promotional activities
- Support for marketing and communication activities of the event through specialized press in collaboration with local media
- Realization of contents, texts, images, videos together with our Editorial Staff
- Promotion of the event in the city: by installing branded corners at the info desks operating at the airport, in the city center and in the hotels taking part in the event
- City Branding for big events
- Customized maps: upon request, we can print city maps with the event logos or with sponsors as an additional form of revenue
Social programs and tourism activities
- Support in organizing social programs, tourist activities, pre and post-congress tours
- Bologna Congress Card customizable card with event logo and dates: the card is intended for the event participants and their companions, who will be granted special discounts in restaurants and museums, as well as advantageous rates for guided tours, souvenirs and other attractions in the town;
- WebApp My Bologna customizable in the period of the event:
this free app will allow participants and any accompanying person to discover the unmissable attractions offered by the Destination during the period of the event.
