Bologna's hub for innovative companies and investment funds: introducing Land in Bo

Today, in the presence of key institutional representatives from the area, Land in Bo was officially inaugurated — a new project designed to attract innovation-oriented companies, startups and investment funds.
Promoted by the Municipality of Bologna, the Metropolitan City and BolognaFiere, in collaboration with the Emilia-Romagna Region, the initiative was developed with the contribution of IFAB – International Foundation Big Data and Artificial Intelligence for Human Development – and with the technical support of Fondazione Bologna Welcome and Mind the Bridge.
What is Land in Bo?
Land in Bo provides direct access to the DAMA Technopole and its ecosystem of services, infrastructures and projects dedicated to artificial intelligence and high-performance computing. Among these, IT4LIA AI Factory stands out as an international-level initiative supporting the adoption of AI in Italy and Europe and a strategic asset for the creation of new entrepreneurial ventures in the sector.
The goal is to create an operational landing point for innovative businesses interested in establishing themselves in the Bologna area, fostering connections with research, industry and high technology. The temporary spaces in Viale Aldo Moro 26 – over 1,100 square meters within the exhibition district and just a few kilometers from DAMA – offer flexible workstations: offices, coworking areas, meeting rooms and spaces for events and networking.
Services offered
In addition to the use of the workspaces, participants in Land in Bo will have access to an integrated package of services, including:
- access to advanced computing power, data management, training and specialist support for the development of AI models and the use of DAMA’s HPC infrastructures;
- entrepreneurial growth services, community animation and the development of networks and open-innovation projects;
- support for the future permanent establishment of startups, companies and investment funds through Invest in Bologna;
- talent-welcome and relocation services offered through Bologna for Talent.
With Land in Bo, Bologna and the entire regional ecosystem gain a true landing infrastructure: a gateway to the potential of the DAMA Technopole and an invitation to connect, compute and create. The project strengthens Emilia-Romagna’s role as an open, innovation-driven region capable of attracting businesses, capital and talent.
