Jan Tinbergen European Peace Science Conference

From June 26-28, the Department of Political and Social Sciences of the University of Bologna is hosting the 22nd Jan Tinbergen European Peace Science Conference at Palazzo Hercolani. The event is jointly organized with the Department of Economic Sciences.

Named after Nobel Prize winner in Economics Jan Tinbergen, it is an annual event sponsored by the Network of European Peace Scientists (NEPS), a group of scholars promoting the development of peace research in Europe. The network, unique in Europe, is characterized by its interdisciplinary nature.

The members belong to different disciplinary fields: mainly political and social sciences and economics, but also history and mathematics. A plurality of theoretical and methodological approaches will be taken, from purely theoretical work to quantitative analysis, creating essential synergies in dealing with a complex issue such as peace.
