ENCODE: AI and ancient writing cultures

From January 23 to 27, the University of Bologna, in its Via Zamboni 38 and San Giovanni in Monte campuses, will host ENCODE: AI and ancient writing cultures, a workshop about the application of artificial intelligence in the study of ancient texts.

Over the 5 dedicated days, the event will offer lectures, training exercises and conferences, aimed at discovering the best modern applications of new AI tools in understanding and interpreting papyri, manuscripts and inscriptions. Participants will be guided by experts in training on NLP, Data Visualization and automatic annotation.
